***********ICE STORM 2003!****************
Monday night.. trying to drive home... damn near impossible, but I made it. Just barely. Tuesday, couldn't even drive out of my parking lot because of the slopes covered in inch thick ice. Wednesday, my job wanted me to drive in little better conditions on the premise, that, if I couldn't make it, I would be released, i.e., fired.
Any job where you have your position threatened due to extinuating circumstances, like, I dunno, let's say.... DRIVING IN FRIGGIN' ICE ALL OVER TOWN is a job that I'm not so sure that I want. So, I show up a half hour late, because, c'mon, if you don't want to t-bone that lexus SUV in front of you, you kind of want to drive a little slower then usual. They give me the eye like they're gonna start bitching me up one way and down the other. I'm about to take my pen and pull that evil eye out of it's socket and nail it to my computer screen!
And tomorrow is supposed to be in the 60's?!?! Good grief! I wish the weather would make up it's mind! I don't hate the cold weather, in fact, give me more ice, sleet, and snow, but I'm not going to endanger me life, or those around me by driving in it. Especially in that crap truck that I have. Hell, I endanger my life and other's by just having it on the road. The fact that that truck still exists is a danger to society at large.
Oh well, you have to be greedy and earn money to survive, right? I guess it's okay to smash into the back of someone's new SUV in the name of capitalism. I guess that's what I'll say when it happens. "So sorry, I have to make it to work, tough break!"....

**********IT WAS A GREAT WEEKEND... UNTIL...************
Had a great birthday weekend! My girlfriend pulled out all the stops to make sure that I had a great 25th, many thanks to you! Without her and my father and step mother, the weekend would have been on the edge of biting it big time. Thanks for everyone's congrats as well for the big 25!
Started yet another job today, and so far, it's going splendidly. Working at Dunn & Bradstreet. Yep, very interesting stuff. The looks of the office alone are comforting... the office is located on 360, a stone's throw away from the Arboretum area, tucked away just enough to be quiet, there's a small creek running in the back, and overall just a nice place, people, office, desks and everything. And believe it or not, the actual job itself doesn't look to shabby!
Now for my daily rants...
Hyundai sucks... well, maybe not Hyundai itself, but Champion sucks. Not long ago, my girlfriend had a blow out and ran onto a median. Unfortunately, a metal spike was sitting on the median as well and ripped her transmission up. $2768 worth of damage to be exact. So, we've come up with a vast majority of the cash, a few hundred short, but we had previously made arrangements to pay off the rest in monthly installments... now they're nixing what they've previously said and they've also taken their damn sweet time about repair work to the car. It's been almost a month since we put the car in the shop, and already a week since they said it would be ready, and guess what? It's not. So, after work come down to Champion Jeep and Hyundai as I tear them a new one. And since her car's been in the shop, we've had to rely on my gallant truck to make trips around Austin. Which, as everyone should know, is a risky jaunt as it is.
Damn car dealerships...
Anyway, my birthday was fantastic! Thank you Kris, I love you.
